Collection: Grey TV Bed

A grey TV bed lets you watch from bed without a TV on the wall or a unit at the end of the room. The screen sits inside the footboard and comes up when you press the remote. When you're done, it drops back out of sight. We make every bed to order, so you pick the size, the shade of grey and whether you want storage underneath.

Why Choose a Grey TV Bed?

Most people pick grey because it's easy to live with. It doesn't show every mark the way cream does, and it sits happily next to white, oak or black furniture.

It also looks tidy with the TV down. The footboard just looks like part of the bed, so your bedroom doesn't feel like a media room all day.

And if you fancy a change later, you only need new bedding, not a new bed.

Which Shade of Grey Suits Your Room?

Grey can mean anything from pale silver to almost black. The right one depends on your room.

  • Light grey or silver suits smaller rooms. It bounces light around, so the bed won't look heavy.
  • Mid grey is the safest pick. It hides marks and goes with most wall colours.
  • Charcoal looks rich in a bigger room. It's also the most forgiving if you have kids or pets.

Plush velvet changes with the light. The same grey can look paler by the window in the day and darker under lamps at night. That's why a sample is worth the short wait.

TV Sizes and How the Lift Works

Your TV sits on a bracket inside the footboard. Press the remote and a small electric motor lifts it to viewing height. Press it again and the TV goes back down. The cables run inside the frame, so nothing trails across the floor.

Screen size depends on the model and the bed size, from [43"] up to [72"].  Before you order, take the stand off your TV and measure the screen's width, height and depth. Then check those numbers against the compartment size.

Browse by screen size: 43" TV beds, 50" TV beds or 55" TV beds.

Which Size Grey TV Bed Is Right for You?

The sizes below are mattress sizes. The frame adds length and width, so check the product page before you measure up.

Grey Small Double TV Bed (4ft)

A small double takes a 120 × 190 cm mattress. It suits a guest room, a teenager’s room or a smaller main bedroom where a full double would feel cramped.

Grey Double TV Bed (4ft6)

A double takes a 135 × 190 cm mattress. It's the size most couples go for, and it fits most main bedrooms without crowding them.

Grey King Size TV Bed (5ft)

A king takes a 150 × 200 cm mattress, so you each get more room. The wider footboard also takes a bigger screen on most models. The frame is around [240] cm long, so leave space to walk past the end of the bed.

Grey Super King Size TV Bed (6ft)

A super king takes a 180 × 200 cm mattress, which gives each of you as much width as a single bed. The extra-wide footboard holds the largest screens in the range. The frame is around [240] cm long and [210] cm wide, so it suits a large main bedroom with space on all sides.

Grey TV Beds With Storage

You choose the base when you order:

  • A gas-lift ottoman base lifts up to show storage under the whole mattress. It's handy for spare duvets and winter clothes.
  • A divan ottoman base does the same job with a solid, boxier look.
  • A slatted base has no storage, but it keeps the bed lighter and lets air move under the mattress.

The TV lift and the storage work separately, so you can open one without touching the other. See more gas lift ottoman beds.

Styling Your Grey Bed With a TV

Grey is a blank canvas, so your bedding does most of the work.

  • White bedding and pale wood keep the room light and fresh.
  • Cream or oatmeal with a few mustard cushions warms it up.
  • Navy, teal or blush pink add colour without clashing.
  • Brass lamps make grey feel warmer. Chrome and mirrors keep it cool.

Grey TV Bed FAQs

Pair it with light bedding and something warm. White or oatmeal sheets, a brass lamp and a wooden bedside table stop dark grey from feeling heavy.

White or cream is the easiest choice, as both keep a grey bed looking light. For more colour, try navy, teal, mustard or blush pink.

Yes. It hides marks better than lighter colours and goes with most furniture, so it's a safe choice for a bed you'll keep for years.

Yes, most of them. We make our TV beds to order, so you can pick grey from the fabric options on each product page.

Plush velvet. Its short, tight pile doesn't bobble like looped fabrics such as bouclé. Keep the bed out of strong direct sun and it will hold its colour for longer.

It hides stains well but can show pressure marks where you sit or lean. Brush the pile in one direction with a soft brush and they'll lift.

It will fit most rooms that take a normal king size bed. Allow for a frame about [240] cm long and [180] cm wide. Leave at least [60] cm at the foot so you can get past when the TV is up.
